Mehr. Mesmerised.

Not sure how many lippies I may have tried before settling for this one – but it was one worthwhile purchase I’ve made for sure! MAC matte lipstick Mehr is well described as a cool toned, pink lippy (how does it work so well for my skin tone? not entirely sure!). I generally go for more warmer toned makeup as I find it better suits me and my complexion. But I must say I fell in love with this one and was sold on the fact it was a real everyday colour that can be worn during the day and suits most skin tones.

In the above photo I’ve paired the Mehr lipstick with Half Red lip liner also from MAC, which I thought worked well and counteracted the cool tone in the lipstick a little. Depending on your skin tone, you can pair this lipstick up with a number of different liners to get your desired look.

Despite being a matte formulation, Mehr has a very creamy consistency when applied over the lips. It glides over quite easily with minimal effort, unlike some matte lippies that require a base of lip balm underneath. The finish is definitely matte and a tip that I’ve learnt is that the finishing is always better when applied after you exfoliate your lips. Otherwise as with any lippy it accentuates your lip creases/lines – not ideal.

The lipstick is very light on the lips, hence there’s no temptation to wet your lips. I’ve worn it for almost 4-5 hours with drinking and eating without having to touch up – LIFESAVER! You can now say bye-bye to all those photos you cringe looking at, cause your lipstick was just not on point!!

Would I repurchase it? YES without a doubt, it’s a keeper.
